Volunteers are essential to the success of our Kitchen Garden program. If you’ve been wondering how you can help out, we have a number of ways you can get involved…

Help us Build our Garden and Kitchen

  • Working Bees

We are running ongoing working bees to help build our garden and kitchen. The more hands we have to help out, the faster it will be finished! No experience required – there’s something for everyone! A FUN and rewarding way to spend a few hours! Whether you’ve got a passion for gardening, are handy with tools, or just wanting to exert some physical exercise, these events could be right up your alley.

  • Trades

We are seeking support from trades to assist with the construction of the garden and kitchen. The trades we are particularly looking for include:

landscapers, builders, carpenters, floorlayer, plasterer and tiler

  • Corporate Volunteering

Consider a corporate volunteer day for your business…..A cost effective way to provide a fun, team building opportunity for staff and a great way for your business to give back to the community! No experience required. Morning tea and lunch provided.

Volunteer in Kitchen & Garden Classes

The success of this unique and exciting program relies on the support of volunteers in classes. There is nothing more satisfying than sharing a delicious meal created with fresh produce that you have grown from seed to harvest.

You don’t have to be a green thumb or a naked chef, you just have to love growing food, eating food and being with children.

Volunteers in kitchen and garden classes will support our specialists by working with small groups of four to five students, facilitating the activities, encouraging student participation and enriching the class experience. We are seeking volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Training will be provided.

  • Sponsorship

We currently need people to help with sourcing and looking after sponsors for our kitchen garden – both in-kind (product/materials) and financial

  • Fundraising & Special Events

We are running fundraising initiatives/events ongoing, both within the school and broader community to support the establishment and running costs of the program.

We have secured the support from Stockland Balgowlah for regular promotional activities.

If you have an interest or skills in special events, we would love to hear from you. Check out our news section[CM1]  for details on how you can get involved in these and other fundraising opportunities.
